Residents of Dharavi in Mumbai came together to celebrate Pongal, the Tamil harvest festival, in the most traditional way possible. The festive atmosphere, filled with laughter, joy, and the aroma of traditional delicacies, has captured the hearts of many after a heartwarming video of the celebration went viral.

The video, shared on social media platform X by @DPrasanthNair on Monday morning, showcases the community’s commitment to preserving and cherishing their cultural heritage. One of the highlights of the celebration was the communal cooking of Pongal, the festive dish made with newly harvested rice and lentils, symbolising abundance and prosperity.

Everyone can be seen gathered around traditional clay pots, offering prayers and gratitude for the bountiful harvest.
