After the pan-India response to her groundbreaking Malayalam feature film, The Great Indian Kitchen, and a recently released Amazon Prime Video web series, Namisha Sajayan is ready to take on Hindi cinema.

Nimisha says that language is no barrier for her, “I speak Hindi as it’s my comfort language because I’m born and raised in Mumbai. My Malayalam is not fluent, but my Hindi is fluent and I’m ready to take on Hindi cinema, I’m ready to take on all languages – Bengali, Marathi, Hindi, whatever comes I just want to explore as an actor well. I’m looking forward to working on all languages.”

The brilliant naturalistic actress admits that The Great Indian Kitchen was a game changer for her, “After The Great Indian Kitchen, there was a major boost in confidence. The Malayalam industry has never forced me to wear makeup or be someone that I’m not. I feel that this could also be the reason for me being as real as I am with the public.”

After the release of The Great Indian Kitchen, the spectrum of Nimisha’s audience broadened exponentially.

She says, “The acceptance that I received from the audience in the north was heartwarming. It was a major reason for boosting my confidence. You know, I felt that it’s okay to have pimples, it’s okay to have acne, it’s okay to be dusky. So that acceptance was something I wasn’t expecting. And, after the release of The Great Indian Kitchen, I have done a Bengali film, a Marathi film, and also a Hindi film. So I’m just trying to explore my craft in all languages.”
