New US game show from the creators of Big Brother and Holey Moley to be filmed in Melbourne with 'mystery' American star host

A famous American actor is set to star in a quirky new game show which will begin filming at Melbourne‘s Docklands studios later this month.
Industry blog TV Tonight reports the mystery star will host ‘The Quiz with Balls’ – an inventive format from the producers of Holey Moley and The Voice.
Ten episodes will be made of the show, which has been adapted from a successful Dutch format and will feature teams of five who compete for a cash prize.
Players perform the quiz while standing on a platform over a pool of water while large balls are poised behind them.
Each question the players are asked has six potential answers. Once answers are locked in, the balls are set in motion.

If the player gets a question wrong the ball knocks them into the water.
The format requires teams of five, which will consist of family members, work pals or friends.
The show is being produced for an unnamed US network by Eureka Productions, the creative force behind hit shows such as Farmer Wants a Wife, Stars from Mars, The Amazing Race and Holey Moley.
The ‘mystery host’ is a well-known actor, comedian and ‘impressionist’ and has featured in both film and TV.

The Quiz with Balls is adapted from a successful Dutch format from Talpa, the company controlled by TV guru John De Mol – creator of Big Brother and The Voice.
Filming of The Quiz with Balls will begin at Docklands in Melbourne on January 30 and last until February 5.
Dutchman De Mol, 66, is worth a staggering US$1.8billion, a personal fortune he accumulated by devising the formats for global hits like The Voice and Big Brother.
