NEW DELHI: All BJP and NDA candidates contesting the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 19 got a pleasant surprise on Wednesday as they received a personalised letter written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi’s letter, written on the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, starts with a praise of the individual candidate and then goes on to talk about the importance of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
For instance, PM’s letter to BJP candidate from Coimbatore and Tamil Nadu state unit chief K Annamalai congratulates him for his decision to leave a prestigious job and commit himself to serving the people directly. Annamalai is a former IPS officer who quit his job to join politics. Calling him a great asset, PM Modi writes that he is confident that Annamalai will reach Parliament.
Similarly, PM Modi’s letter to BJP candidate Anil Baluni praises him for raising issues of Uttarakhand in Rajya Sabha. Baluni is contesting Lok Sabha elections from Garhwal.
This unique outreach is part of a massive exercise by the BJP to reach everyone in these constituencies with PM Modi’s message.
The letter talks about the difficulties people faced during 5-6 decades of Congress rule and says how in the last 10 years his government has worked to improve the quality of life of every section of society.
