Maruti Suzuki India has claimed an impressive range of more than 1,200km for the hybrid version of the Grand Vitara SUV and the Invicto MPV on a single full fuel tank.
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara hybrid uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine (92PS/122Nm). Its electric motor puts out 80PS and 141Nm. The maximum power output for the hybrid system is 116PS. The transmission duties are performed by an e-CVT.
The Maruti Suzuki Invicto hybrid has a 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to an e-CVT. While the total system power is rated at 186PS, the engine power is 152PS and the motor power is 113PS. The engine torque comes at 188Nm and the motor torque at 206Nm.

Maruti claims a mileage of 27.97kmpl for the Grand Vitara hybrid, which has a 45-litre fuel tank. The Invicto hybrid, with a 52-litre fuel tank, has a claimed mileage of 23.24kmpl.
While the Grand Vitara hybrid can go for 1,258.65km on a single full fuel tank, the Invicto hybrid is good for 1,208.48km.
The Grand Vitara has been jointly developed by Japanese automakers Suzuki and Toyota. In India, it is sold as the Grand Vitara by Maruti and Urban Cruiser Hyryder by Toyota. The Grand Vitara is priced between Rs 10.80 lakh and Rs 20.09 lakh (ex-showroom).
Maruti’s Invicto is a badge-engineered version of Toyota’s Innova Hycross. The Invicto comes in the price bracket of Rs 25.30 lakh and Rs 29.01 lakh (ex-showroom).
