Man dead and three arrests made following shooting in early hours of this morning in Drimnagh
A MAN HAS died following a shooting in Dublin in the early hours of this morning.
Three men have been arrested by gardaí investigating the fatal shooting in the Dublin 12 area.
A Garda spokesman said that at approximately 12:15am, a male “sustained fatal injuries during the course of a shooting” on the Knocknarea Road, Drimnagh.
The body of the man remains at the scene and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.
The scene is currently preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.
Three males have been arrested as part of this investigation and they are currently being detained at Garda Stations in the Dublin Region under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
A Senior Investigating Officer and an Incident Room has been established at Sundrive Road Garda Station to head the investigation.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to these incidents to come forward.
