Mamata Banerjee suffers injury after falling inside helicopter
NEW DELHI: West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee suffered an injury on Saturday after boarding a helicopter in Durgapur. The Trinamool Congress supremo slipped and fell inside the chopper as she was about to take her seat.
The CM was helped by her security personnel and she continued with her onward travel to Asansol, said media reports.
The incident comes just a month after the CM suffered a serious injury on her forehead after slipping at her residence. “She was walking in her drawing room when she suddenly slipped and fell down, and her head hit a glass showcase. This led to a deep cut on her forehead and profuse bleeding,” a senior TMC leader had said.
Earlier in January, she escaped with minor injuries after a car accident was averted during her tour of East Burdwan on January 24. Near the Burdwan city, her convoy encountered what she claimed was a car speeding at 200 kmph. Banerjee’s driver applied the brakes but her head hit the dashboard, leading to swelling and concussion.
