‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ box office collection day 4: Pranav Mohanlal and Dhyan Sreenivasan’s film mints big on Sunday!

Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial venture, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham,’ continues to shine at the box office. The star-studded film, featuring Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Basil Joseph, Vineeth Sreenivasan, Neeta Pillai, and Nivin Pauly in significant roles, garnered impressive numbers on its first Sunday, April 14.

On its fourth day in cinemas, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ achieved an impressive India net collection of approximately Rs 4.10 crore (early estimates), as reported by Sacnilk. Notably, the film had earned only Rs 3.05 crore on its opening day, making the fourth-day collection particularly noteworthy. The multi-starrer maintained an overall Malayalam occupancy rate of 67.48% on Sunday.

With a worldwide collection of Rs 30.65 crore by the end of its fourth day, ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ has established itself as a formidable success, both domestically and internationally. The film’s India net collection stands impressively at Rs 13.3 crore, while the overseas earnings amount to Rs 20 crore.

Released on April 11, the film continues to captivate audiences with its engaging narrative, stellar performances, and touching storytelling.

ETimes rated the film 3 out of 5, stating, “Almost 20 years after Mohanlal and Sreenivasan collaborated on a film about celluloid dreams, titled ‘Udayananu Tharam,’ their sons have come together for a film on the same theme, albeit with a different feel. While ‘Varshangalkku Shesham’ also explores missed opportunities, the Vineeth Sreenivasan directorial, spanning about 50 years, primarily focuses on friendship, with plenty of in-jokes intertwined. Vineeth’s script, depicting the fluctuating dynamics between the two friends, lacks smoothness. Although audiences appreciated the references to Sreenivasan or the film industry, the rest of the humor falls short. Additionally, the absence of prominent female characters is disappointing. Given the talented team involved, a more engaging and emotionally resonant film was expected.”
