lost decades vs modi ki guarantee: ashwini vaishnav blasts congress over sluggish economy | times now summit 2024

New Delhi: Union minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday tore into the Congress party and the slow progress of economy under its leadership. While speaking at the Times Now Summit, the Union Minister said the decades under Congress leadership were “lost decades”.

“PM Modi’s vision and the way he is thinking about the country is phenomenal. I don’t think any other country has a leader who is thinking 25 years ahead, who is also taking stakeholders and civil society together. And the way this leader works, almost 24 hours, no holidays, no weekends…He is committed to the country. The only thing he thinks is – Rashtra Pratham, Sadaiv Pratham.”

“There were lost opportunities and yet the Opposition did not mend their ways. If we look at our country’s economy from 1947 to 1990, the first four decades were lost decades…Later on there was some change, some reforms came during BJP government but then again 2004 to 2014 was a lost decade,” he said.

“When Atal ji handed over the post to Manmohan Singh, it was such a healthy and robust economy. Our economy was on 11th rank in 2004 and it was on the same rank in 2014. It means the 10 years were a waste and PM Modi took over at 11th rank and we are already at 5th spot and it is Modi’s guarantee that by 2027 India will be world’s biggest economy,” he said.

“Congress killed the constitution, put so much pressure on judiciary,” he added while slamming Congress’ culture and said they do not allow independence in any institution.
