Lok Sabha election 2024: Former BJP MP Ram Tahal Chaudhary joins Congress
NEW DELHI: Former BJP MP Ram Tahal Chaudhary on Thursday Joined Indian National Congress in the presence of Jharkhand Congress in-charge Ghulam Ahmad Mir.
Chaudhary was BJP MP from Ranchi Lok Sabha seat from 1991 to 2004 and then from 2014 to 2019.
Formerly affiliated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) till 2017, Chaudhary resigned from BJP after being denied a ticket for the 2019 Lok Sabha polls. In the same year, he ran as an independent candidate in Ranchi but garnered less than 2.5% of the votes. Previously, Chaudhary had served as a member of the Bihar legislative assembly.
