Lalu’s RJD targets ‘missing’ Nitish from PM Modi’s rallies in Bihar

PATNA: RJD headed by Lalu Prasad on Tuesday questioned the “mysterious absence” of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar from PM Narendra Modi’s rallies in Bihar even as the latter launched savage attacks on the former over the issues of Jungle Raj, misgovernance and principal opposition’s poll symbol of lantern. Modi addressed two rallies in Bihar today—his third in the past 12 days.

“I can’t tell you the reason behind Nitish Kumar Ji’s absence from PM rallies in the state but this could be that he recently committed a major faux pas by seeking people’s support for winning 4,000 Lok Sabha seats in the country instead of 400 for which he had to tender an apology by touching the feet of the PM,” Misa told the media on Tuesday, adding, “Shayad yahi karan raha hoga.”

She said it was strange that the two leaders who came together only recently were not sharing the dais together on Tuesday. She also hit out at the PM for deliberately skipping the issues of employment, farmers’ MSP and tackling inflation in the country in his speech and speaking mainly over “Parivarvad” and “Mobile recharge”.

“What’s the point in asking people about mobile recharge from lanterns? Will mobile recharge provide jobs to the youths and tackle inflation? What the NDA could not do in 17 years, we did in just 17 months. We provided five lakh jobs to the youths,” she asked.

She reacted after PM Modi while addressing a rally in Gaya asked from the masses could lantern (RJD’s poll symbol) recharge mobile phones adding the people belonging to lantern age won’t allow you to move into modern age.

Misa also took potshots at the BJP for its statement that it is PM Modi who is contesting from 543 LS seats in the country. “This is very unfortunate. The observation means the BJP candidate doesn’t have any value. Will the people go looking for the PM for any works in their constituency once the elections are over,” she said, alleging the PM comes visiting Bihar only during the election time.

Former Dy CM and RJD’s main star campaigner Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, on the other hand, hit back at the PM for his “Junge Raj” remarks, questioning what he had done for the state.

“We gave jobs to lakhs, doubled remuneration, made IT policy, tourism policy, sports policy and for the first time in Bihar, MoU of investment to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore was signed. Still, if they (BJP) call it ‘Jungle Raj’ What can I say about this?” Tejashwi asked.

Alleging that the PM has done nothing for Bihar in the last 10 years, the state opposition leader said that Modi gave only four things to the country— “unemployment, inflation, poverty and Jumlebaazi.”

RJD chief Lalu Prasad said he was wondering as to from where these people get so much courage to tell lies. “Did Bihar get special status and special package? And what about airports in Bihar?”

Lalu asked. He said the PM Modi and Nitish bragged so much from time to time over these three issues, lied so many times and played with everyone’s emotions so much so that the mere mention of these issues from their mouths makes the people of Bihar furious.
