ipl 2024: virat kohli gives mouthful to umpires; throws bat in frustration after controversial dismissal rcb vs kkr – watch
A major controversy hit the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) during the Sunday (April 21) clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Garens in Kolkata, with Virat Kohli’s dismissal sparking debate.
In the third over of RCB’s 223 run-chase, a slower delivery from Harshit Rana decieved Kohli, with the star Indian batter bamboozled and handing an easy return catch to the bowler. However, the mode of the dismissal left the former RCB captain stunned as it was assumed the ball was a no-ball and took an immediate review.
The indulging full toss appeared to make contact with Kohli’s bat above waist height. However, the ball projection showed the ball was dipping and eventually going to go below Kohli’s waistline. It is worth noting that the Indian cricket legend was standing ahead of the crease and was on his toes.

Virat Kohli Loses Cool At Umpires
On the third umpire’s decision that the ball was a fair one, Kohli lost his cool with the umpires. After the decision was announced, the star RCB batter approached the on-field umpires and was seen giving them a mouthful before going back to the dressing room. On his way back to the pavillion, the 35-year-old was evidently angry and threw his bat in frustration on the ground.

Yash Dayal and Cameron Green took two wickets each for RCB.
