KKR vs RR, IPL 2024: Avesh Khan Grabs A Stunner Out of Thin Air to Dismiss Phil Salt Early After Riyan Parag Blunder

In the high-stakes clash between RR and KKR, it was Avesh Khan who has started the night off with an absolute blinder of a catch to dismiss KKR’s Phil Salt and set the tone for the remainder of the clash.

RR come into the fixture as the table-toppers, while KKR loom a menacing second, right behind them, making tonight’s match-up one amongst the best sides of the tournament so far.

It isn’t merely just that, today is also a clash between the team with the best betting figures in the powerplay (Kolkata) and the team with the best bowling figures in the powerplay as well (Rajasthan).

It was pivotal for RR to clinch the wickets of the openers of KKR, Sunil Narine and Phil Salt, who have proven themselves to be one of the most lethal opening partners in the IPL this season.

And it was Avesh Khan who produced a blinder of a catch himself, to help RR get off on the right foot.

In his second over, Avesh bowled one fuller, straight to Salt, who tried to punch away at it with brute force, but hit it with a cross bat, hence not connecting fully.

Avesh though pounced on the rebound and grabbed it out of thin air, to dazzle all watching as he dismissed the deadly opener with a moment of genius.

Riyan Parag would be elated that his teammate capitalised on the same, as now his mistake could be forgiven with much more ease.

Good hands with the bat, not so good with the ball today, as Riyan Parag dropped a sitter to dismiss KKR’s Phil Salt for a duck early in the innings today, as RR take on the Kolkata side at Eden Gardens.

RR’s strike bowler Trent Boult almost produced the breakthrough with the second ball of his first over, one swinging away towards the offside, as Salt poked at it only to find the outside edge and send it flying towards Riyan Parag, who dropped the dolliest of catches.

Parag tried to go for the Australian style reverse cup way of catching the ball, but lost his composure in the last moment, as he didn’t close his hands around the ball, thereby dropping the catch.
