'Dubbing Union Compounds Are Illegal': Chinmayi Sripaada After Actor Radha Ravi Promises To Not Let Her Enter The Complex

'dubbing union compounds are illegal': chinmayi sripaada after actor radha ravi promises to not let her enter the complex

Chinmayi retorted, denouncing Radha Ravi as abusive.

Playback singer and actress Chinmayee Sprada has recently made headlines for her dubbing work in the blockbuster movie Leo, where she voiced actress Trisha Krishnan. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay, the film stirred controversy within the entertainment industry due to Chinmayi’s involvement. Notably, she has faced a ban from the Tamil Nadu dubbing union since 2018.

Despite her ban, Lokesh Kanagaraj chose Chinmayi to dub for Trisha Krishnan, leading to uproar among members of the dubbing union, including Vice-President Rajendran. The director paid a fee of Rs 50,000 to hire an artist outside the union, further exacerbating tensions. Against this backdrop, the South Indian Cine, Television Artists, and Dubbing Artistes Union (SICTADAU) are preparing for their upcoming elections on March 17.

Amidst the controversy, the President of the dubbing union, Radha Ravi, expressed his adamant stance against Chinmayi Sripaada, vowing not to allow her entry into the Dato Radha Ravi Complex, the building of the Tamil Nadu Dubbing Association. In response, Chinmayi retorted, denouncing Radha Ravi as abusive and declaring her refusal to visit any compound associated with him, labelling the Dubbing Union compounds as illegal.

Radha Ravi, a longstanding figure in the industry and a candidate for reelection as President, remains confident of his victory in the upcoming elections. In a media interaction in Teynampet, Chennai, he addressed Chinmayi Sripaada’s situation with the union, reiterating his refusal to enter the Dato Radha Ravi Complex in her presence. Chinmayi, on the other hand, has accused the Dubbing Union of corruption and questioned the legitimacy of the Dato’s Complex, alleging it to be illegal and fraudulent.

Chinmayi Sripaada’s ban from the Tamil Nadu Dubbing Union stemmed from her refusal to pay subscription fees, leading to a court case that resulted in significant financial losses for the union.
