lok sabha elections 2024: bjp president jp nadda gets term extension till june 2024
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Jagat Prakash Nadda had his term extended till the month of June 2024. The party made the decision at the BJP national convention in New Delhi on Sunday, February 18. With the extension, it becomes clear that Nadda will be leading the party into the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the decision was made by the party’s national council.
Jagat Prakash Nadda took over as the president of the BJP in 2019, after Amit Shah remitted office to become the Union Home Minister, as part of an aspect of BJP’s one-person one-post policy. At the time, Nadda was the interim working president of the party. He took full-time charge in 2020.
