Jos Buttler caught in camera after scoring a match-winning hundred against KKR
What Jos Buttler did against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Tuesday night will be remembered for ages. Chasing 223, the Rajasthan Royals were 128/6 and with 96 runs needed off 36 balls, there’s percentage of win was not even 1. But the Englishman turned the tables on his own will as RR’s win probability was close to 100 in the final over. He scored an unbeaten 107 off 60 balls, with 9 boundaries and 6 sixes to guide the Royals to a historic win as they registered the highest successful run chase in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Buttler was visibly struggling. Drenched in sweat, he was gasping for breath and was barely able to walk. But defying his physical condition, he helped the Royals to pull off a heist which shall find a place in the history of the franchise and the tournament.
He was fully charged up after scoring the winning run off the last ball of the innings as he jumped in the air and then threw away his helmet and the bat; could be the best ‘mic drop’ ever.
The moment was captured on camera and as soon as it surfaced on social media, it hardly took seconds to go viral. Buttler himself shared the photo on his X handle while the Rajasthan Royals put it as their cover photo.

‘Keep Believing was the key’
After the historic win, Buttler said he never lost self-belief during his match-winning hundred and took a leaf out of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Virat Kohli’s books on how to achieve targets in adverse situations.
“Keep believing, that was the real key today. I was struggling a bit for rhythm. At times you feel frustrated or you are questioning yourself. I tell myself it’s okay, keep going, you’ll get your rhythm back and try to stay calm.

“There’s been plenty of times throughout the IPL, you’ve seen crazy things happen. Guys like Dhoni and Kohli, the way they stay till the end and keep believing and I tried to do the same,” Buttler said.
The Englishman also credited RR’s Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara for enhancing his self-belief.
“That’s something Sangakkara has told me a lot – there’s always a breaking point. The worst thing you can do is to not fight and give your wicket away. He (Sangakkara) just tells me to stay there and at some point, the momentum will change. That’s been a big part of my play over the last few years,” he added.
