Rhodes, famous for his innovative fielding drills and skills was appointed as the fielding coach of Lucknow ahead of IPL 2023, when the team qualified for the play-offs and finished off at the third spot in the points table.
In IPL 2024, Lucknow started their tournament by losing to the Rajasthan Royals by 20 runs at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. While skipper KL Rahul and his deputy Nicholas Pooran played big hands in the run chase, none of the other batters stepped up for the challenge and that cost Lucknow the match.
