The much-awaited film Article 370, featuring Yami Gautam in the lead role and produced by Aditya Dhar, the director of Uri: The Surgical Strike, made its debut in theatres on February 23. Alongside Yami Gautam, the film boasts pivotal performances from Arun Govil and Priyamani. The film opened on a decent note and now is all set to hit the Rs 20 crore mark soon.

Article 370 Box Office Collection Day-Wise

According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, Article 370 garnered Rs 5.75 crore on its opening day, achieving an overall 42.8 per cent Hindi occupancy on Friday. Now, as per early estimates, the film witnessed a huge jump on day 2 and minted Rs 7.5 crore. The total collection reportedly stands at Rs 13.4 crore.

At the box office, Aditya Suhas Jambhale’s directorial venture went head-to-head with the Vidyut Jammwal-led action film Crakk. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Arjun Rampal, Crakk amassed Rs 4 crore on its initial day. The opening day earnings of Article 370, although slightly lower, closely trailed the day one collection of the recent Shahid Kapoor-starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, which raked in Rs 6.7 crore on its debut and has subsequently accumulated Rs 66 crore in India.

During a gathering in Jammu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to the Yami-starrer and said, “I have heard that a film on Article 370 is going to be released this week… It is a good thing as it will help people in getting correct information.”
