Air India, a top airline in India, and All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan’s biggest carrier, have teamed up to make traveling between the two countries easier and more convenient.

This new partnership, called a codeshare agreement, means that travelers can now choose from a wider range of flights when going from India to Japan or vice versa.

As per the Press Release, starting May 23, 2024, passengers of both airlines can book their entire journey with just one ticket, combining flights from Air India and ANA. This means less hassle and smoother transitions for travelers. Plus, passengers flying on codeshare flights will get access to perks like lounge access and priority boarding.

Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial & Transformation Officer at Air India, says, “This codeshare agreement with All Nippon Airways marks an important step forward in connecting India and Japan.”

Air India will add its ‘AI’ code to ANA flights between Tokyo Haneda and Delhi, as well as Tokyo Narita and Mumbai. On the other hand, ANA will add its ‘NH’ code to Air India’s flight between Tokyo Narita and Delhi. Both airlines are also looking into adding more routes to their partnership in the future.

You can book codeshare flights through both airlines’ websites, reservation systems, and travel agencies.

Katsuya Goto, from All Nippon Airways, adds, “We look forward to building this strategic partnership with Air India, as it is a significant step towards furthering stronger air connectivity and enhancing customer experience between Japan and India.”

This partnership not only makes travel more convenient but also strengthens the ties between India and Japan. And for travelers, it opens up new opportunities to explore both countries with ease.
