ireda a ‘navratna psu’? big update from govt – full details
Renewable PSU Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has received the ‘Navratna Status’ from the Indian government, the Company informed in the BSE exchange filing on April 26, 2024.
“…this is to inform that Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) vide its letter dated April 26, 2024 has granted the ‘Navratna status’ to Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA),” the Company said in the filing.
Navratna companies are those PSUs having sound and strong financials that have the autonomy to invest up to Rs 1000 crore without any prior approval from the central government. Some popular known Navratna companies are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Bharat Electronics Limited, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, etc.
If a Navratna company completes the required provisions, it can convert into a Maharatna company. These companies have more autonomy and authority than Navratna companies.
IREDA share price
IREDA stock witnessed a gain of 2.03 per cent on BSE, April 26, to close at Rs 170.65 apiece. The scrip opened at Rs 168.60 apiece, reaching a high of Rs 174.60 apiece and a low of Rs 166.75 apiece. The renewable PSU boasts a market cap of Rs 45,866 crore. The stock’s 52-week movement indicates a high of Rs 215 apiece and Rs 49.99 apiece. The stock has a face value of Rs 10 each.
IREDA share price history
The stock has performed mildly in the short term. In the past two weeks, the stock has risen to 6.14 per cent. The past one month’s stock movement remains at 21.37 per cent. Overall, the stock has gained around 63.07 per cent this year YTD.
IREDA corporate action
IREDA hasn’t taken any corporate action so far including bonus shares, rights issues, etc. Moreover, it hasn’t announced the dividend to the shareholders till now.
