Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna, who was part of the ODI World Cup 2023 squad as well, created an unwanted record on Tuesday (November 28) during the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series between India and Australia that was played at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. In the must-win match for the Aussies, the 27-year-old right-arm medium pacer was taken to cleaners by the Australian batters, and he conceded 68 runs in his quota of four overs.

By getting hammered for 68 runs, Krishna now holds the unwanted record for giving away the most runs ever by an Indian in a T20I match. Before him, the record for the worst bowling figures in T20I by an Indian bowler was held by Yuzvendra Chahal, who was slammed for 64 runs in four overs by South African batters during a T20I match played in Centurion on February 21, 2018.

The Indian team was invited to bat first in the third T20I, and riding on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s maiden T20I century, the Men in Blue posted a total of 222 runs on the board for the loss of three wickets. But unfortunately, the total didn’t prove to be enough. Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who was hammered for 30 runs in an over by Gaikwad during India’s innings, scored 104 runs from 48 balls to seal the deal for Matthew Wade & Co.
