[watch] sandeep warrier sends back prithvi shaw with excellent short ball in gujarat titans vs dc ipl 2024 clash
Gujarat Titans’ medium pacer Sandeep Warrier was seen sending back Delhi Capitals’ Prithvi Shaw with an excellent short ball during their match on Wednesday in Ahmedabad. The latter departed for just seven runs off six deliveries to leave Delhi at 31/2 in a 90-run chase. As a result, Shaw missed out on a golden chance to finish the match.
The dismissal came during the third over of Delhi’s innings. Gujarat debutant Warrier bowled a bouncer and surprised Shaw with the delivery. The latter tried to avoid the delivery but left the bat suspended in the air and ended up handing a dolly of a catch to Spencer Johnson at short third.
Warrier also dismissed Abishek Porel for 15 in the fifth over. Watch the video of Shaw’s dismissal here:

Shaw has amassed 158 runs in five innings with the best score of 66 off 40 balls against the Mumbai Indians. But without many efforts from him, a clinical bowling display from Delhi led the Rishabh Pant-led team beat Gujarat on Wednesday.
Opting to field first, Delhi rolled over Gujarat for just 89 runs in 17.3 overs, the bowlers having a say after being blasted all over the park in the last few games of IPL 2024.
Mukesh Kumar was the most successful bowler for Delhi with figures of 3/14, while there were two wickets apiece for Ishant Sharma (2/8) and Tristan Stubbs (2/11).

As far as Gujarat’s batting is concerned, just Rashid Khan put up a semblance of resistance with a 24-ball 31. Chasing 90, Delhi completed the formality in just 8.5 overs to register their third victory and give their run rate a boost, which is now at -0.07.
What stood out on the day was Pant’s leadership and his work behind the stumps. The flamboyant keeper-batter was sharp and agile while wearing the big gloves and performed a quick stumping besides pulling off an incredible catch diving full stretch.
