Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Box Office collection: Rebecca Hall’s film set to touch Rs 90 crore in India

Post the success of Godzilla Vs Kong, the makers took the fight in the Monsterverse a notch higher with Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and the film has delivered better than expectations. Across the globe the film has earned more than US $ 436 million and India is not far behind in its contribution.

In the first week, the film earned Rs 57.75 crore leaving behind money spinners like Dune 2 and Kung Fu Panda 4, which minted only Rs 16.55 crore and 16.95 crore in their first week. In the second week the film added another Rs 23.55 crore, taking its two weeks total to Rs 81.33 crore. The film entered the third weekend on a fabulous note as it earned Rs 1.4 crore despite the release of biggies like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan. The film then went on to nearly double its number on Saturday where it collected Rs 2.77 crore and on Sunday it earned Rs 2.86 crore, thus taking the overall collection of the film to Rs 88.33 crore.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has now gone on to become the 14th highest grossing film in India beating the likes of Tom Holland’s Spiderman: Far from Home ( Rs 86.11), The Fate of Furious ( Rs 86.23) and Ms Marvel ( Rs 84.36 crore). The trade is expecting the film to join the elite list of Rs 100 crore club soon!

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire features Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns, and Fala Chen. Hall, Henry, and Hottle reprise their roles from the previous installment. The storyline sees Kong discovering more of his kind in the Hollow Earth and joining forces with Godzilla to prevent their oppressive leader and a formidable, climate-altering Titan from wreaking havoc on the surface.
