Banan’s journey began in Udupi, Karnataka, where he grew up in an ordinary family. In 1967, he found himself washing utensils at a restaurant for a meagre salary of Rs 18 per month, laying the foundation for his future endeavours.

This marked the inception of “Sagar-Ratna,” with a successful branch in Lodhi Market, Delhi, further solidifying Banan’s foothold in the culinary landscape.

Today, Sagar Ratna stands as a beacon of success, with international outlets in countries like Canada, Singapore, and Bangkok, boasting an impressive annual turnover exceeding Rs 300 crore.
