Schuldentilgungskonto des Bundes: 2023 mehr als 100.000 Euro eingezahlt

Mit dem Schuldentilgungskonto hat jede und jeder die Möglichkeit, die Verbindlichkeiten des Bundes zu verringern. Im vergangenen Jahr machten die Menschen in Deutschland wie üblich nur wenig Gebrauch davon.

Mit rund 1,7 Billionen Euro steht der Bund derzeit in der Kreide – jede Bürgerin und jeder Bürger kann mithelfen, den Schuldenberg des Bundes abzubauen. Seit 2006 gibt es das Schuldentilgungskonto des Bundes. Wer möchte, kann dorthin einen x-beliebigen Betrag überweisen, der eingesetzt wird, um die Verbindlichkeiten zu tilgen.

Im vergangenen Jahr verzeichnete das Bundesfinanzministerium 701 Einzahlungen auf dieses Konto, wie eine Sprecherin des Hauses auf stern-Anfrage am Dienstag mitteilte. Die Summe aller Einzahlungen betrug 2023 demnach 106.683,65 Euro, rund 46.000 Euro mehr als noch 2022.

Rund 1,4 Millionen Euro landeten bisher auf dem Schuldentilgungskonto

Eine Person allein hat der Bundesregierung den Angaben zufolge 25.000 Euro überwiesen – der größte Einzelbetrag des vergangenen Jahres. Der geringste Geldeingang betrug einen Cent. Auch dieser floss in die Kasse des Bundes – oder wie es im Ministeriumssprech heißt: “Die auf dem Schuldentilgungskonto eingehenden Mittel werden im Bundeshaushalt im Einzelplan 32 – Bundesschuld – bei der Haushaltsstelle im Kapitel 3201 Kreditaufnahme, Titel 32511 ‘Einnahmen aus Krediten vom Kreditmarkt’ vereinnahmt und sind gemäß Haushaltsvermerk Nr. 2 zweckgebunden zur Schuldentilgung zu verwenden.”

Zur Motivation von Bürgerinnen und Bürgern, dem Bund freiwillig Geld zu überweisen, kann das Finanzministerium naturgemäß wenig sagen – wohl aber zum Gesamtbetrag, der seit Einrichtung des Kontos vor 18 Jahren dort gelandet ist: 1.390.046,10 Euro. Ginge es in diesem Tempo weiter, wäre der Bund rechnerisch in rund 22 Millionen Jahren schuldenfrei.

Dass in Zukunft signifikant mehr Geld auf dem Konto eingeht, ist eher nicht zu erwarten – und auch nicht das explizite Ziel der Bundesregierung. Man erwarte solche Beiträge nicht “und strebt auch nicht an, die Bevölkerung zu solchen Zahlungen zu ermutigen”, erklärte die Regierung 2019: “Zur Finanzierung des Bundeshaushalts ist der Staat nicht auf Spenden angewiesen, und er sollte diesen Eindruck auch nicht durch aktives Werben für Spenden vermitteln.”
