Farida Jalal has left an indelible mark on the Indian entertainment industry over the past several decades. Zoom has now exclusively learnt that the actress is all set to make her comeback to the silver screens with Welcome to the Jungle that stars Akshay Kumar and Raveena Tandon in lead roles. Farida’s last Bollywood film was Jawaani Jaaneman in 2020, where she played the role of Saif Ali Khan’s mother. The film also starred Alaya F, Kubbra Sait and Tabu.

Farida Jalal roped in for Welcome to the Jungle

Farida Jalal is doing a very important role in Welcome To The Jungle, we have learnt. It is an action adventure comedy film directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Firoz Nadiadwala.

A source tells us, “The makers were very keen on having Farida Jalal on board. She came through for the role perfectly and immediately said yes when it was offered to her.”

Welcome to the Jungle is a standalone sequel to Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015). It is the third installment of the Welcome franchise and stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta, Jacqueline Fernandez and Disha Patani.

Farida Jalal’s illustrious career

Farida Jalal started her career with Taqdeer in 1967. She is widely remembered for her roles in Aradhana (1969), Paras (1971), Henna (1991) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995). Farida often portrayed motherly roles and strong female characters in the 1990s and the early 2000s.

Not only films, Farida has also done some notable works on television including Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Dekh Bhai Dekh and Shararat.
