uae weather: dubai’s airport, roads are underwater and locals blame cloud seeding, artificial rain
Dubai’s International Airport, the second-busiest airport in the world, came to a standstill on Tuesday after the UAE city experienced flash flooding and heavy rainfall. Several flights were delayed and cancelled. Videos on social media showed the tarmac being underwater and large planes trying to navigate through the floods. In a similar situation, Dubai’s road-system also came to a halt beacuse of heavy rainfall.
Locals are blaming cloud seeding and artificial rainfall for the harsh weather conditions in Dubai. RAZIA Middle East cited a meteorology expert from the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) to report that seeding operations had taken place in the last 24 hours.

So far, experts haven’t found any harmful effects of cloud seeding on humans or animals. However, according to emaganize.com, increased precipitation in one area could lead to droughts in nearby areas. Cloud seeding could cause excessive rainfall, leading to flooding.
Several locals slammed Dubai’s artificial seeding on X, platform formerly known as Twitter.
“This is Dubai today, insane weather patterns artificially caused by this controversial practice,” one person said along with a video.
“Dubai infrastructure being totally unprepared for moderate rain, worsened by the government’s cloud-seeding experiments, coinciding with a massive crypto convention so all the coin-fluencers are there to document it,” another one added.
