A Queens man was caught with a whopping 123 pounds of marijuana when he was pulled over for speeding on an interstate in Virginia Wednesday.
Jun Yan, of Fresh Meadows, was driving along Interstate 81 when state troopers stopped his 2024 Toyota Sienna for speeding and tailgating at 2:17 p.m., Virginia State Police said.
But the troopers soon learned they were dealing with a much more serious crime than driving over the speed limit when they searched Yan’s car — which he consented to.
The officers found several boxes inside containing 123 vacuum-sealed bags of ganja — with an estimated street value of $500,000, according to the state police.
Yan, 45, was arrested on charges of possessing marijuana with intent to distribute and transporting more than five pounds of marijuana into the Commonwealth.
He was booked in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Regional Jail, where he was held without bond.
