A 23-year-old man riding a scooter was fatally struck by a female driver in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon, according to police.

Robert Jimenez, of the Bronx, was hit near Fox Street and Intervale Avenue in the South Bronx around 2:22 p.m., cops said.

A 28-year-old female in a Honda Civic driving southbound on Fox Street hit the man while traveling in the same direction, according to police.

Photos from the scene showed a red vehicle with its front violently smashed in and the front left tire turned on its side.

The man on the scooter was killed and the female driver was taken into custody.

Nearby sat the wreckage of the scooter.

Jimenez was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was declared dead.

The woman was taken into custody. It cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Charges were still pending around 11 p.m. Saturday night, cops said.
