A disgraced weatherman fired from NY1 after his nude videos from an adult webcam site were leaked said he’s taking a break from social media.
More than a year after the scandal, Erick Adame is suffering, he said on X.
“In December 2021, I was captured nude on a public adult webcam site. It’s something I had done before but wasn’t caught in this way until then,” Adame, 39, wrote. “Months later someone would send these images to my mom, my bf and my work. I was fired in September 2022 and haven’t been able to find similar work, on or off camera.”
“The toll this has taken on me mentally and financially is hard to even begin to describe,” Adame wrote. “I’m still pushing forward and trying my hardest to stay positive but I need to take a break from social media.”
Adame said his start-up weather subscription service “Weather with Erick” would continue “for now.”

“I’m hoping my time away will leave space to focus on mental health and hopefully get working again Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive during this very difficult time.”
Adame deleted his X account entirely shortly after posting his statement.
The Emmy-nominated weatherman for Spectrum News NY1 was fired from his job in September 2022, after someone took photos and video of him on an adult streaming website and forwarded them to his employer.
Adame has been unable to find a new weather gig for more than a year.

Last month he told The Advocate in an emotional interview that he was confident he would land a job somewhere, and that he had had “some really greats conversation” with “several stations in the deep south.”
Adame did not respond to request for comment from The Post.
