KS Eshwarappa, expelled from BJP, says ‘will fight, win, go back to party’
Hours after being expelled from the BJP, rebel leader KS Eshwarappa on Monday announced his decision to contest as a non-party candidate. He also exuded confidence in his win and said he would go back to the BJP again.Â
“I have decided to contest as a non-party candidate. I still have hope. I do not fear any expulsion,” Eshwarappa told the media.Â
“I will contest elections and win and will go back to BJP again. I have competed five times with the lotus sign,” he said.Â
On Monday, the party expelled him for six years for violating party discipline and contesting Lok Sabha polls as an independent candidate.
The former Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, who had also served as the party’s state unit president, has entered the poll fray, blaming state BJP president BY Vijayendra and his father and veteran party leader BS Yediyurappa, for his son KE Kantesh being denied the ticket to contest from Haveri.
Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has got BJP’s Haveri ticket, while Vijayendra’s brother and MP BY Raghavendra is the BJP candidate from Shimoga.
