Veteran writer Mairaj Zaidi, who wrote the screenplay for Ek Veer Stree Ki Kahaani – Jhansi Ki Rani, passed away today (March 1) due to age-related ailments. He was 76 and breathed his last at his home, Dandupur, Prayagraj. As per reports, he had been not keeping well for quite a few days. He is survived by his three sons Shoaib, Sheku and Sheru and two daughters Sunaina and Azma.

Mairaj Zaidi no more

Mairaj Zaidi had written screenplays for several TV shows such as Veer Shivaji, Shobha Somnath Ki, Aapki Antara and Raja Ka Baaja. He was widely known as theater director, performer and songwriter in the country.

Zaidi had also appeared in TV shows and films, including a Hollywood project, Gongar 2. Some of his memorable shows are Agra Bazaar, Mitut Bihari Lal Hazir Ho, Shahar Mein Curfew and so on.
