Ben Affleck found working with Matt Damon to be a ‘lovely’ experience.
The 50-year-old actor teamed up with his long-time friend to make the biographical sports drama Air.
And Ben – who was seen with his son Samuel last week – has now revealed that he relished working with Matt, 52.
Ben – who directed the movie and also plays the part of Phil Knight, the co-founder of Nike – told IndieWire: ‘I love and trust Matt so much, and it was so lovely to be working together.
‘It was kind of like a feeling of, I want the other actors to feel [this too].
‘Like, “Come on, it’s all good, I love actors, I love you, you’re going to be OK, everyone, take as much time as you want, do what you need to do and be respected, and to kind of project that energy.”‘

Ben and Matt shot to international prominence in 1997, when they co-wrote the award-winning ‘Good Will Hunting’.
On this occasion, Matt enjoyed the experience of being directed by his showbiz pal.
He said: ‘Honestly, it was kind of a natural progression.
‘We’ve written a bunch of movies and produced and acted together for so many years and decades, so it didn’t feel any different, working this way.’
Earlier this month, Ben described working with Matt as the best experience of his career.
The actor-turned-director – who married Jennifer Lopez in 2022 – also revealed that he’s already missing working with him.
He shared: ‘It was just so much fun.
‘I don’t know. It kind of felt like just us and getting to do the thing that we wanted to do. I did. I loved it. I loved it.
‘I miss it every day since. It was the best, like, work experience of my life, without question.’

On Monday night they joined Viola Davis for a screening of their new film Air in New York City.
Affleck – who recently gushed about his wife Jennifer Lopez – looked casual in a gray sweater and striped slacks.
Damon, 52, oozed classic style in his black ensemble.
Davis, 57, looked radiant in a white blazer and black shirt, giving her lips a pop of bright red color and wearing her short hair in lustrous waves.
The three Oscar winners beamed beside each other as they posed on the red carpet, capping a triumphant rollout for their film in The Big Apple.
After the screening, the A-listers took to the stage and discussed their biographical sports drama, which is shaping up to be a surefire hit.

Slated for release on April 5, Air tells the story of the rise of the sneaker brand Air Jordan and is directed by Affleck.
It has earned rave reviews and even received a standing ovation when it premiered at SXSW over the weekend.
The shoes – produced by American corporation Nike, Inc – were created for Hall of Fame former basketball player Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls in 1984 and released to the public on April 1, 1985.
Damon plays sports exec Sonny Vaccaro as he hears about how both sales and growth in Nike’s basketball division are trending downward.
Nike founder Phil Knight, played by Affleck, tells Vaccaro to come up with a pitch for a new shoe, which leads him to have the idea of formulating a brand around upcoming player Michael Jordan.
Viola Davis, who stars as Michael Jordan’s mom in the film, praised Affleck as a director to the The Hollywood Reporter.
The veteran actress called making Air ‘an unbelievable experience that me and my husband and even my hair and makeup team still talk about to this day.’
She continued: ‘Ben’s an auteur and so unbelievably kind and respectful. It was one of our top experiences of being treated the way we felt we deserved to be treated.’
