Dividend Stock: Equitas Small Finance Bank on Wednesday has announced a dividend along with its fourth quarterly results for the fiscal year 2024. The bank has declared a dividend payout of 10 per cent on the face value of Rs 10 each, which translates to a dividend amount of Re 1 per equity share.

A dividend is a share of profits and retained earnings that a company pays out to its shareholders and owners. When a company generates a profit and accumulates retained earnings, those earnings can be either reinvested in the business or paid out to shareholders as a dividend.

“The Board has recommended a dividend of Re. l/- per equity share of Rs.10/- each fully paid-up subject to the approval of the Members at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (“AGM”) of the Bank,” the bank said in its regulatory filing dated April 24.

“The Record date for the purpose of determining eligibility of Members entitled to receive the dividend shall be intimated later,” the bank informed the bourses.

The record date, which is set by a company’s board of directors, is the date on which the company compiles a list of shareholders of the stock for which it has declared a dividend. This list is used to determine the shareholders entitled to receive the dividend.

This is the second dividend announcement by the Equitas Small Finance Bank in its history. Prior to this, the bank has declared a dividend of Re 1 in July, 2023. At the current market price, its dividend yield stands at 1.02 per cent.
