Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar now Rs 10,000 crore brand; new variant to be launched in early May 2024

It’s been a staggering FY24 for Bajaj Auto’s Pulsar for two main reasons—clocking the highest-ever volume during the year and becoming a massive Rs 10,000 crore brand.

In a bid to capitalize on the demand further, Bajaj Auto announced that six new models will be launched in the first half of FY25, beginning with the biggest Pulsar in early May, ensuring that the company sets a “relentless pace and is always top of mind of this customer,” Bajaj Auto’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma said in a conference call after declaring the Q4 results.

“Going forward we will be addressing with some new products, and there will be a lot of action in the first half.”

Not just that, it is also gearing up to introduce the world’s inaugural CNG-powered motorcycle, aiming to slash commuting costs by half. “The mileage-conscious customer is spread across the 100 cc to 125 cc commuter segment and is well over 600,000 units per month. Over 60 percent of this is covered by the CNG infrastructure, hence the opportunity is exciting. With this, we will have a position in all the motorcycle segments setting us up to continue to grow faster than the industry,” the management said.

As for the fourth quarter, it reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,011.43 crore, up by 18 percent from Rs 1,704.74 crore reported during the same period last year.

The homegrown two- and three-wheeler manufacturer posted revenue of Rs 11,249.8 crore for the January-March quarter this year, up by 30 percent from Rs 8,660 crore during the same period last year.

Bajaj Auto shares have surged by 33 percent since January this year and nearly doubled in the last 12 months, outperforming the NSE Nifty 50. It trails only Tata Motors, which has delivered over a 100 percent return during the same period. Bajaj Auto’s rally has also outpaced that of Hero MotoCorp and Eicher Motors.
