An earthquake of 4.5 magnitude hit Maharashtra’s Hingoli City on Thursday, the National Center for Seismologys stated. The first tremor was recorded at 6:08 am and was then followed by an aftershock at a magnitude of 3.6 on the Richter scale.
The National Center for Seismology took to X and wrote, “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 21-03-2024, 06:19:05 IST, Lat: 19.41 & Long: 77.32, Depth: 10 Km,Location: Hingoli,Maharashtra India.”
Infact, earthquake tremors were reportedly felt in several areas of Nanded between 6 am and 8 am on Thursday. The tremors lasted for around 10 seconds.
According to a Times of India report, a few locals complained of cracks in the walls of their homes and the disaster management department authorities have also assured that an assessment of damage, if any, is currently underway.
On the other hand, three earthquakes jolted Arunachal Pradesh’s East Kameng on Thursday morning. The first one was measured 3.7 magnitude on the Richter scale and occurred at 1:49 am and. It was followed by a second one that was was felt at 5:13 am, measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale. It occurred at a depth of 5 km, the National Center for Seismology stated.
The third tremor was felt at 5:13 am and was measured 3.2 on the Richter scale.
No casualties or damage were reported due to the earthquakes.
