‘You really think that’s how I operate?’: Ian Bishop rubbishes fake remark comparing Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson

NEW DELHI: Former West Indies great and renowned commentator Ian Bishop on Saturday slammed a fan for spreading a fake remark in his name that involved India batters Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant.

Rubbishing the remarks and the comparisons, Bishop hit out at the social media user, categorically denying the quotes that were being circulated on his name.

The incident happened during the Delhi Capitals vs Lucknow Super Giants game when a fan compared two India keeper-batters DC’s Rishabh Pant and Rajasthan Royals’ Sanju Samson, citing Bishop’s alleged quotes.

“Ian Bishop on live commentary. Anything Samson can do, Rishabh Pant can do it better. He’s spitting facts,” a user wrote on his X handle with a pic of Bishop in the comm box.

Surprised by the above ‘quotes’ from Bishop, a fan questioned the West Indian great to which he replied, “You really think that’s how I operate?”.

Both Pant and Samson are in the race for the T20 World Cup spot, for which the squad will be announced later this month. The T20 World Cup begins from June 2 and will be played in the Caribbean and the US.

In the ongoing IPL season, Samson so far has 246 runs to his name in 5 matches, while Pant has aggregated 194 runs in 6 outings.
