The blockbuster success of Akhanda left audiences and fans wanting more. Ever since, there have been suggestions from fans to turn the action entertainer into a franchise.

While Boyapati has been ideating on the storyline of the second installment, it looks like there’s some good news for fans of the franchise.

Akhanda 2 Will focus On What Society Needs

Director Boyapati Srinu, who attended the Siva Kesava Maha Sannidhanam temple inauguration in Hyderabad on Friday, was asked about his upcoming films. The director categorically hinted at Akhanda 2. “I shall announce my film soon after the elections,” he shared. While Akhanda touched elements like Pasibidda, Prakruthi and Paramathma (child, nature and God), the filmmaker stated that Akhanda 2 will also focus on what society needs.

“We are focusing and developing the story idea on the elements of what society needs,” added the director.

Akhanda 2 An Ideal Follow Up To The First Installment

The writing team of Boyapati has been brainstorming for a plotline for Akhanda 2 that would be the ideal follow up to the first installment. The team is giving final touches to the script and the film may be officially announced post elections.

The Balakrishna-starrer which released in December 2021 was a runaway hit at the box office. The film which grossed more than 100 crore INR registered a hat trick of successes for Boyapati Srinu and Balakrishna.
