Aamir Khan’s upcoming film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ to likely begin shooting in May

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan is preparing for his new movie ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. After taking a break following his last film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’, Aamir is set to start shooting his latest project in May in Delhi.

Reports suggest that Aamir will travel to Delhi with a group of around 11 children to begin filming ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The specifics of the other cast members have not yet been disclosed.

The movie’s shooting is planned to last for a month, from May to June. The children will participate in scenes involving Paralympic Games. Filming locations will include several famous spots in Delhi such as the Red Fort (Lal Qila), Lodhi Garden, Old Delhi (Purani Dilli), and the Thyagraj Stadium. The decision to shoot in various parts of Delhi was made to avoid making the children travel too much, especially to the NCR areas.

Aamir announced ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ at an event, explaining that the film would be entertaining and funny, yet like his previous hit ‘Taare Zameen Par’, it would focus on individual uniqueness despite personal flaws. The story will follow nine boys with their own challenges, who end up helping Aamir’s character in the movie.

‘Taare Zameen Par’, where Aamir played an art teacher and Darsheel Safary played Ishaan Awasthi, a boy with dyslexia, was released on December 21, 2007. The film was a big hit, grossing 1.35 billion rupees globally. ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ seems to continue the theme of recognising and embracing individual differences and strengths.
