Prithviraj Sukumaran’s survival drama Aadujeevitham or The Goat Life has impressed film buffs worldwide, as it has completed nineteen days in theaters. Directed by Blessy, the film is an official adaptation of a Malayalam bestseller by Benyamin with the same title. The Vishu and Eid holidays in Kerala have further helped the film to maintain a strong hold in theaters even after a two-week run.

The filming of the survival drama between March 2018 to July 2022, spanning six schedules across the deserts of Wadi Rum, Jordan, and the Sahara, Algeria, and Kerala, India. According to Sacnilk, the ambitious project earned an estimated Rs 1.19 crore net on April 15. This brings the total collection of the movie in India to Rs 74.94 crore net.

The film was initially released in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. However, due to the low occupancy in other languages, the Malayalam version took center stage. Now, the film has significant occupancy for the Malayalam version. On the third Monday, the film displayed an occupancy of 44.65 percent in theaters. On April 14, the Vishu holiday helped it to earn Rs 2.1 crore net at the box office. On Eid, the film earned Rs 3.65 crore net. A few days ago the makers revealed that the movie entered the prestigious Rs 100 crore club worldwide.

The current worldwide collections stand at Rs 140 crore.

The Making of Najeeb’s reflection in the eye of the camel

Talking about a particular shot in the film, Prithviraj told the media that it took director Blessy, and the team several days to get it right. He said “The actor said, “I had said this story at a press meet in Kerala. There is a shot in the trailer of my reflection in the eye of the camel. So what happened was there is a scene where I bid farewell to all the animals in the masara (a farm where sheep, goats and camels are raised). I tell all the camels that I am leaving and I won’t come back. I do this as I am feeding the camels. By some accident the main camel that was in the shot suddenly stopped eating and looked at me. So Blessy said, ‘Wow, we should get an opposite counter angle of that, for the camel to do that.’”
