Former SpiceJet COO launches aircraft charter company, ties up with Transworld Group
Sirius India Airlines, a new player in India’s aviation industry, is venturing into the air charter business and it has partnered Dubai-based Transworld Group to bring its luxury private air travel brand Airavat Aviation to the country, a statement issued by the company said on April 9.
Arun Kashyap, the promoter-director of Sirius India Airlines, was earlier the chief operating officer of low-cost airline SpiceJet.
Transworld Group has a strong foothold in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Asia in the luxury charter space.
Sirius India Airlines will look to leverage its expertise in the sector and will initially operate flights through a Hawker 4000 aircraft in collaboration with Airavat Aviation, while it plans on expanding its fleet size to three aircraft this financial year, the statement said.
“We are thrilled to introduce Airavat to the Indian market,” said Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, chairman of Transworld Group.
“Today marks an exhilarating milestone for Sirius India Airlines as we embark on a transformative journey in the Indian aviation sector with a strategic joint partnership with Transworld Global Group’s Airavat Aviation,” said Kashyap.
