Mumbai: The dream of becoming a civil servant in India is not an easy one. Lakhs of aspirants spent a considerable time of their lives dedicate solely to one exam with a hope to serve millions one day. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recently declared the final results of Civil Services Exams-2023, turning dreams of many into reality, while numerous others were left behind only to try again or choose another exam or profession, if their attempts have been exhausted.

As much the exam tests one’s ability to handle critical and tense situations, it is also a test to ascertain the level of patience one can have. As many web series have shown, many become friends in this tiring yet adventurous journey of which, some clear the UPSC while some could not. However, many of those who don’t clear do end up doing something great elsewhere. A similar story has now come forth where a man posted a picture with his friend and the beautiful story of theirs.

He said that he cracked the UPSC exam while his friend, despite four attempts and three interviews, couldn’t clear the same. However, the future had something else in store for him.

“Met Harsh yesterday. My UPSC prep flatmate & a close friend. Super hardworking & dedicated – left his job, gave 4 attempts, 3 interviews. But unfortunately couldn’t make the cut,” IPS officer Archit Chandak said in a post on X.

“Now happily working in Trident at a great role with a handsome package,” he further said, adding that no success is final, no failure is fatal and it is the courage to keep going in life which matters the most.

Chandak is an IIT-Delhi graduate and 2018 batch IPS officer, presently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch Office) in Nagpur, Maharashtra.
