The selection of Members of Parliament for the six Rajya Sabha seats in Maharashtra was concluded without any opposition on Tuesday. The deadline for withdrawing names for these seats was until 3 PM today. However, neither did any new names emerge nor did anyone withdraw their nominations during this period.
Consequently, these six Members of Parliament have been selected unopposed for the Rajya Sabha. Among them, three are from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), while one is from the Shiv Sena, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), and the Congress.
The elected MPs from the BJP include: Ashok Chavan, Medha Kulkarni, and Dr Ajit Gopchhade. Milind Deora, who represents the Shiv Sena, Prful Patel from the NCP, and Chandrakant Handore from the Congress.
