Los Angeles Chargers fifth-round rookie has been a pleasant surprise
Heading into the offseason, there were two major positions that the Los Angeles Chargers needed to shore up — wide receiver and cornerback.
The team has done what it could to add several options at each of those spots, even if none of those options would be considered elite, at least as of right now. But as the team held minicamp recently, one of the cornerbacks selected in the fifth round of this year's draft stood out in a big way.
Still, a fifth-round pick out of Maryland will be in the mix for playing time this coming season, but many fans and analysts see the cornerback selected after him in the same round, Cam Hart, as the better overall prospect.
Right now, Still is probably ahead of him in the pecking order.

Still has caught the attention of Derwin James and new defensive coordinator Jesse Minter during the offseason program and should have a chance to push for good playing time as a rookie.
The only "sure thing" the Chargers have at cornerback is Asante Samuel Jr. and several guys are looking to make an impression this summer behind him.
Veteran Kristian Fulton was brought in and he is penciled in as the starter on the outside opposite Samuel. But he was pretty bad last season, so he is far from a lock at that spot. Still can play on the inside or the outside but he projects best as a slot corner where he will likely challenge Ja'Sir Taylor for reps at that spot.
The Chargers will open training camp in about one month. Still's name will be one to keep tabs on.
