What matters to Welsh voters?
Most decisions about what happens in Wales are made in this the Senedd or the Welsh Parliament. But in the general election, Wales votes for MPs to Westminster. So what are some of the big issues for voters in Wales? Firstly, an issue that affects people right across Wales, the cost of living. Welsh voters will be looking at the party's pledges in England because thanks to something called the Barnett Formula, the more government money spent on health, for example, in England and the greater the funds received by Wales. Next, the steel industry. Tata plans close both blast furnaces in Port Talbot to cut emissions and costs. Unions say this puts thousands of jobs at risk and they want the UK government to fight for them. Nuclear energy is a big talking point in North Wales. Both the Conservatives and Labour have pledged to develop a nuclear reactor at the Wylfa Nowit site on the Isle of Anglesey. And finally, how will the outcome affect the relationship with this place? Whatever the result of the general election, people in Wales will hope that both governments in London and Cardiff deliver on their priorities.
