Ryan Day Offers Update on Tenuous Ohio State QB Situation At Buckeyes Press Conference
Ohio State Coach Ryan Day offered a surprising update on the current Ohio State football quarterback situation at a press conference on Tuesday, a position of great concern among the Buckeyes heading into fall.
The Buckeyes added 6-foot-5 running specialist Will Howard from Kansas State this offseason, a welcome development for a roster that appeared short on QB talent in an embarrassing 14-3 Cotton Bowl Classic loss to the Missouri Tigers this past December.
When asked about the Buckeyes' quarterback situation heading into the 2024 fall season, Coach Day was non-committal.

"Really no update," Day said at the press conference about whether Devin Brown, Howard or someone else will start at the QB position on day one.
"We've really been busy here (in June) with recruiting. You guys have been following that. But also with our team. But to say coming out of the spring, where we are right now, there's a lot of movement at any position wouldn't be accurate."
Day added that the Buckeyes will work hard and "there will be a lot of progress made (with strength coach Mickey Marotti) in the weight room.
