The Los Angeles Sparks will be without Cameron Brink for the foreseeable future. Brink, the WNBA's No. 2 overall pick, suffered a torn ACL in her left knee while playing against the Connecticut Sun on June 18.
After the Sparks revealed the severity of Brink's injury, she received a personal message from Sonya Curry, Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry's mom. Brink is Steph's god sister, and their respective families are incredibly close.
Curry wants the 6-foot-4 forward to keep her head up after learning about the devastating news.
"We may fall down but we always get up! God got you!!!!James 1:2-4 @cameronbrink22 ❤️," Curry shared with her 245,000 followers on Instagram.
Curry supported Brink at the 2024 WNBA draft and cheered on the rookie's preseason debut on Instagram. "Letsssssssss gooooooo!🙏🏼👏," Sonya wrote, sharing a video of her god daughter's dancing entrance. Brink commented, "Lolol love u god momma."
Brink's ACL tear will keep her from joining Team U.S.A's 3x3 basketball team at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. As it stands, it's unclear if the Stanford alum will suit up again this season.
