"Make Europe Great Again" Motto

Starting July 1, Hungary, under the leadership of Viktor Orban, will take over the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. Adopting the motto "Make Europe Great Again," reminiscent of Donald Trump's 2016 campaign slogan. Hungary aims to signal a proactive presidency according to digi24.

"We are stronger together than apart," stated Janos Boka, Hungary's Minister of European Affairs, at a press conference in Budapest.

The presidency, from July 1 to December 31, intends to focus on peace and security in Europe amidst extraordinary circumstances.

Janos Boka highlighted Hungary's seven priorities for its EU Council presidency, which include enhancing competitiveness, common defense, and external border protection.

Other priorities are advancing EU expansion, stimulating cohesion policies, agriculture, and addressing demographic issues.

Boka emphasized that Hungary's presidency seeks real solutions to Europe's pressing problems, pledging to be an "honest broker." Additionally, the Hungarian presidency will focus on improving the Schengen free movement area and combating antisemitism.

Promoting Education and Cultural Heritage

Hungary plans to encourage discussions on higher education and cultural heritage protection during its presidency.

The official logo, inspired by the Rubik's Cube, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

This symbol, created by Hungarian inventor Erno Rubik in 1974, represents innovation and problem-solving, aligning with Hungary's goals for its term at the helm of the EU Council.
