Joy-Anna Duggar said her family had a recent scare after she had to rush her 13-month-old son Gunner to a nearby medical facility after he choked on a piece of ham.
Joy-Anna, 26, and her spouse Austin Forsyth, 30, are parents to son Gideon, six, daughter Evelyn, three, and son Gunner, one.
In a video post on YouTube Friday, Joy-Anna she said left her feeling 'pretty shook up for a while.'
The Counting On personality explained the series of events leading to the emergency situation.
'I was just feeding him a little bit off my plate, and I had a piece of ham, like Thanksgiving ham,' Joy-Anna said. 'I was letting him chew on it and take a bite off of it, and he bit off more than he could chew and immediately started choking.'

Joy-Anna said she was in tears as she sought to force her son to cough up the piece of ham obstructing his breathing, and gave him to Forsyth, who works as an EMT.
Joy-Anna explained the rush of emotions she dealt with in the terrifying moments: 'I started crying 'cause I'm just like Lord, please protect him, like all of those what-ifs come to your mind right away.'
Joy-Anna said that while Gunner had regurgitated, the problematic piece of ham hadn't surfaced.
Gunner 'still had not thrown up the ham, was gagging, and at this point, was not breathing for like 20 seconds,' his mother said.
Gunner's breathing was shallow, and he 'was still struggling and was really, really lethargic,' Joy-Anna said, leading her and Forsyth 'to get in the car and head to the hospital.'
Joy-Anna said there were periods in which the baby's breathing ceased, leading her to experience a chilling level of fear as a parent.
'I was just crying out to God like, please save him, and I've never been to a point where, like, I thought I was going to lose one of my kids, and it was just that thought of he is going to die came to my mind, and it just like was terrifying,' she said.
She said she turned to prayer on the long commute to the hospital, which was about an hour away: 'I was asking God, "Please, please save him, please save him, give us wisdom - help us to get there."'

'I was just so thankful that God protected him,' Joy-Anna said, 'and we made it to the hospital, and that whatever was in his throat wasn't bothering him anymore.'

Joy-Anna was previously seen on the Duggar family's TLC reality series 19 Kids and Counting, which was canceled in July of 2015 after her sibling Josh Duggar's past history of molestation surfaced.
A probe of Josh was conducted in 2006 after an associate of the family tipped them off, but officials cited the statute of limitations in deciding against pursuing charges at that time.
Josh Duggar is currently serving a 12 1/2-year prison sentence in connection with his 2021 conviction for downloading images of child sexual abuse.
Federal officials who probed Josh Duggar said that he'd downloaded the illegal images at an auto dealership he'd been working at in Arkansas.
Before his past had been revealed, Josh Duggar had been working as a lobbyist for the Family Research Council, a conservative organization.
