Big television star snubbed from the 2024 Logie Awards for the first time: 'You're not allowed'

The Logie Awards are set to kick off on August 18 following the Paris Olympics this year, but one massive radio and TV star won't be in attendance.

Chrissie Swan revealed on Tuesday she has been snubbed from television's night-of-nights for the first time during her long career in entertainment.

Sharing the shock news on Nova's The Chrissie Swan Show, the radio and TV presenter, 50, said she hasn't received an invite to this year's star-studded event.

Chrissie invited close friend and comedian Sam Pang on her radio show after learning he is slated to host the Logies yet again from The Star Sydney.

'I don't know much about it. I do know it's on August the 18th, after the Olympics,' the Have You Been Paying Attention? panellist, 50, said.

Chrissie then chimed in with: 'Where is it? I don't think I'm invited this year. I think this is the first year I haven't been invited in years.'

'Well, good. I'm glad they got my memo. You're not allowed,' the funnyman hit back.

Chrissie is often spotted attending the Logies as a guest each year and has previously been acknowledged at the ceremony for her work in television.

She won Most Popular New Female Talent in 2011 and was nominated for the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television for hosting The Circle.

That same year, she was also put up for Most Popular TV Presenter, a nomination she again received in 2012 and 2013 for The Circle and Can of Worms.

Chrissie's absence from this year's Logie Awards may be due to her recent focus on radio since she rolled out The Chrissie Swan Show nationally on Nova FM last year.

Nominations for the 64th TV Week Logie Awards will be revealed on June 23, with this year's event featuring significant changes to the award categories and judging.

Three awards will be presented as 'Most Popular', with nominees decided by a panel of independent industry experts before being voted on by the Australian public.

These categories include the Gold Logie for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television, the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter, and the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.

Additionally, the remaining 20 awards will be named 'Best' to combine the previous 'Most Popular' and 'Most Outstanding' categories.

Winners will be determined by a combined score from a judging panel, viewing data, and Australian public votes.

Channel Seven's Logies telecast was a ratings blockbuster for the network last July, drawing in an impressive 877,000 viewers after the network snatched up the broadcasting rights from Channel Nine in 2022.
